Gallé (Galle), Crystallerie Clematis Vase

Some early Gallé (Galle) vases that were made in the 1890s have the fancy Crystallerie signature on the underside, as this example does.  It appears to be a transitional vase to the standard opaque vases that Gallé (Galle) is best known for.  Most Crystallerie vases have transparent or translucent backgrounds.  After the purple clematis flowers were acid-etched on this vase, the entire vase was polished with the use of a broad flame.  That melted the surface glass that cooled to a shine.  The technique is called fire-polishing.  Very nice detail and deep cutting.  5¼".  Signed.  Mint condition.  Priced to sell quickly.
