Daum doesn't get much better than an applied and wheel-carved dragonfly. The glass was molten applied and then hand-carved by an artisan. The result is a realistic, 3-dimensional dragonfly flying above a pond with flowers and leaves. How cool is that? 5½" x 5½". Engraved signature underneath DAUM NANCY, together with the Cross of Lorraine. Mint condition.

This fine 16" diameter lamp is a moderately rare variation of the Colonial model, pictured in Tiffany Lamps & Metalware by Alistair Duncan on page 178, figure 707. The background glass is pastel green; the narrow geometric bands and "dragonfly wings" have more yellow; and all the intersections have white opalescent glass jewels. The condition is very good, with scattered heat cracks (some pictured in photo 4). It is signed on the interior lower rim TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 1595. The leadwork is finished in an original, beautiful patina.

The base is referred to as an Art Nouveau stick base. It has three original sockets and is finished in an original gold doré, with normal wear.

This is a great lamp for a beginner or a decorator. The price is very reasonable.

Rare, very cool Gorham mixed metal vase -- hammered copper with silver applications of a snail, crab, butterfly, and dragonfly. Excellent patina. Signed GORHAM CO Y50 0, together with the anchor monogram. 3½" tall x 4¼" diameter. Excellent original condition.

Tiffany Poppy lamps are very desirable for several reasons. First, the poppy flower is very beautiful and comes in many different colors. Second, the wire mesh used on the interior of the shades gives texture to the leaves and is used to great effect on both Poppy lamps and Dragonfly lamps. The reticulated overlay to the center of the flowers is dramatic.

This particular example has magnificent yellow and orange coloration, with extensive mottling in both the flower petals and the background, including the geometric lower border.

The condition of the shade is wonderful, with no restoration and very few, if any, hairline cracks. It is properly signed on the inside lower rim.

The ribbed library base has an original patina, in excellent condition. The 3-light cluster has original sockets. The base has been professionally rewired. It is properly signed underneath. 

All in all, this is one of the prettiest Poppy lamps I've ever owned. It's a no-excuses lamp that deserves to be in your collection.

When people think of Tiffany lamps, Wisteria and Dragonfly are the two models that come to mind first. They're quintessentially Art Nouveau and the epitome of Tiffany Studios lamps.

This particular 20" diameter example is stunning. It has the most beautiful soft blue wings on the dragonflies, with mottled green bodies and red jeweled eyes. The background is a beautiful mottled apple green.

The base is a rare and very desirable Cat's Paw adjustable model, where the height can easily be changed. It has a gorgeous original patina.

Both the shade and the base are properly signed. There are very few hairline cracks in the shade. The height of the lamp is adjustable from 24½" to 31".

What a super example of Amphora ceramics at its Art Nouveau best. It really doesn't get better nor more Art Nouveau than a beautiful maiden surrounded by iris flowers, a dragonfly and a spider web. You would expect a huge, 21" example to have some restoration, but even on close inspection, there doesn't appear to be any. Apparently unsigned, but obviously Amphora. For the best collections.

Dragonflies are the best subject matter for French cameo glass. They are the epitome of Art Nouveau and essentially double the value of a vase without a dragonfly. Gallé loved dragonflies and used them from time to time. They are very desirable. 

This example is what you should look for. It's got the best color I've ever had on a Gallé banjo vase. The usual color scheme is to use light orange dragonflies. I've had them in blue before but never with such intense blues and purples on a salmon background. This example is the cat's meow.

Nice cabinet size at 7". Signed "Gallé" in cameo in the pond water. Mint condition.

Dragonflies are the essence of Art Nouveau and make any item of French cameo glass more important. Daum Nancy vases and boxes with applied and wheel-carved dragonflies are few and far between. I feel lucky when I'm able to acquire one. This box is a great example, with excellent color and detail, as well as a superbly hand-carved dragonfly. It's an important example for the best collections. 6" x 6". Engraved signature on the underside. Mint condition.

A dragonfly adds at least 50% to the value of two nearly identical vases. This example is quite rare because the huge dragonfly is paired with iris flowers, instead of the usual water lilies. The colors are lovely -- pastel blue and lavender on a frosted background. And it's big, at 17¾" tall. Cameo signature near the base. Mint condition.

I can't get enough Galle dragonfly vases.  They're moderately rare, very Art Nouveau and very desirable.  Just got this wonderful example, moderately large at 11" tall.  Signed "*Gallé".  Mint condition.

Paul Daschel is known as one of the finest of the Amphora Art Nouveau artists. His works are highly desirable. This elegant, small vase is truly lovely with dragonflies around the rim and fancy Art Nouveau handles. Signed. 6" tall. Mint condition.

Tiffany Studios made some lamps with simple backgrounds as a canvas for great colored subject matter.  In this example, the dragonflies have super color and contrast beautifully with the complementary background.  The base is the wonderful and very desirable inverted mushroom, with really great original patina.  All in all, there are no excuses that have to be made for this lovely lamp.  14" diameter.  Excellent condition and fully signed.

I sold many of the Galle vases that I had with dragonflies, so I was quite pleased to find this one.  Spectacular big dragonfly with beautiful color and nice blue in the sky and water.  Substantial size at 9¾" tall.  Signed "*Gallé".  Mint condition.

Haven't had a Tiffany Dragonfly lamp for sale in quite some time.  This one is special.  Each of the dragonflies is different, with differently colored bodies and jeweled eyes.    Only a small percentage of Tiffany Studios' Dragonfly lamps have this unique feature.  The base is the rare and very desirable Twisted Vine.  The lamp is all original, right down to the cap and  four sockets.  There are only a few hairlines in the entire shade that include a couple of the elongated jewels.  The gold doré finish is in very good condition, with less than normal wear.  20" diam. x 27" tall.  Signed base and shade.

Everyone loves a dragonfly.  How about two?  How about on a monumental vase, 19¼" tall?  I haven't had a Gallé dragonfly of this size and quality in a long time.  It's for the best collections.  Signed.  Mint condition.

Dragonflies are the epitome of Art Nouveau.  Gallé usually combined a dragonfly with water lilies.  This example is exceptional with the most beautiful contrast, detail and coloration.  It also has a unique feature that I've never seen on another dragonfly example.  There are three acid-cut shells on the foot of the vase (illustrated in the second photo).  The vase is also a wonderfully large example at 19".  All in all, this vase is everything that you could ask for -- subject matter, color, size, shape and a unique additional element.  Signed.  Mint condition.

Water lily scenes come with or without dragonflies.  There's nothing like a huge dramatic dragonfly to add interest, rarity and desirability.  The blue water completes this great vase.  The technique is acid-etching, followed by wheel-polishing, to give a sheen to the dragonfly and water lilies.  Nice size at 8¼".  Signed.  Mint condition, with a few grinds on the foot, guaranteed original to the making, and only mentioned for accuracy.

The addition of a dragonfly to a French cameo item greatly increases the beauty and desirability of any object.  Most of the time, the dragonfly is acid-etched.  On this tray, the dragonfly is applied and intricately wheel-carved.  It's three-dimensional and very cool.  It makes for a killer item.  6" diameter.  Signed.  Mint condition.

I wish I could put a dragonfly on every Galle item I have, but then they wouldn't be as desirable.  This wonderful box, 6¾" diameter, has a big dragonfly hovering over a lily pond.  Just the kind of decoration you hope to find on a box.  Wonderful color, great condition.  Signed.

This is an exceptionally pretty vase with beautiful red flowers.  Add a dragonfly to the decoration and it's much better.  A gilded top and foot rim is another fine added touch.   Put all that on a lovely solifleur (bud vase) shape and you've got one beauty.  6½" tall.  Signed.  Mint condition.

Daum vases with wild orchids come with or without spider webs.  Adding two spider webs is the equivalent of adding a dragonfly to a water lily vase.  It adds interest, rarity and desirability.  Additionally, the diamond shape tumbler is very nice, and rarer than the square or round examples.  4¼" tall.  Signed.  Mint condition.

This vase has so much going for it, I don't know where to start, but I'll try.  First there is the subject matter of wild orchids and spider webs.  Daum wild orchid vases come with or without spider webs and you guessed it -- spider webs are a fantastic addition, the equivalent of adding a dragonfly.  Next comes the great color with a purple mottled background in the bulbous section.  Lastly comes the great shape, called a solifleur in French, or bud vase in English.  This is a top-notch, highly collectible vase.  5¾".  Signed.  Mint condition.

The dragonfly is the essence of Art Nouveau and adds value and desirability.  This vase has especially nice color and is a very fine example.  It is acid-etched and wheel-polished.  7".  Signed with a star, which dates it from 1905 to 1914.  Mint condition.

Everyone likes banjo vases as the shape is very pleasing.  Add a dragonfly to the decoration and blue in the water, and you have an important example.  The technique is acid-etching and wheel-polishing.  6¾" tall.  Signed "*Gallé".  Mint condition.

Gallé miniature vases are rarer than Daum miniatures.  This is one of the few that I've been lucky to acquire.  It's got superb workmanship with two dragonflies, intricately wheel-carved and a quotation on the back "Engage amitié"  It's quite special. 2" tall.  Signed.

I'm thrilled to have this lamp for sale.  It's killer.  Let's start with the dragonflies themselves.  They're great with olive to gold mottled bodies, jeweled eyes! and yellow wings.  The background glass is all ripple glass shading from blue to mauve (how great is that!) with green bordering the top and bottom of the shade. The base is fabulous too -- a rare candelabra base with pulled feather Favrile glass inserts.  The whole lamp is original with a gold dore finish. It will not last long.  It's signed base and shade and in excellent condition.
